Information of China Mountain Taishan

Located in the central Shandong Province, Taishan Mountain was called Mt.Daishan or Mt.Daizong in ancient time, and it was renamed Taishan Mountain during the Spring and Autumn Period, that was 770-476B.C. Taishan Mountain was listed into the UNESCO world heritage list in 1987. The total area of the mountain is 426 square kilometers with a circumference of 80 kilometers.

2.Transportations to Mount Taishan
If you prefer airplane, you have to land in Jinan(济南) and take a 60-minute bus journey to Taian（泰安），which located at the foot of Mountain Taishan. Besides, you can take trains from  Jinan (a journey of about 50 minutes), Beijing (a journey of four and a half hours), Shanghai (a journey of about six and a half hours), Qingdao (a journey of about six hours) etc., to Taian railway station directly, then Bus NO.1 Line of Mount Tai Tourist Line: The railway station-Tianwai Village-Zhongshan Men(Mid Heaven Gate), which takes CNY 13 for climbing up the mountain and CNY 11 for going downhill. Furthermore, you can take bus from Taian City Square to the foot of Mount Tai, but since you are unfamiliar there, so I don't suggest you to take bus or taxi there, even the fee of taxi only cost about CNY 5.

3. Tourist Line of Mountain Taishan
The focus of this tourist line is mainly on the sunrise. If you need any other practical Taishan Tourist suggestions, please consult my colleagues.

Day1. Departure from the hotel and arrive at the foot of the Mountain Taishan. Then, started to climb the mountain from the back hill. 5-6 hours later to the summit, enjoy lunch and have a rest, then continue to tour the summit, such as Jade Emperor Summit, back to the hotel on the peak at 5.

Day2. Down the mountain and enjoy the South Heavenly Gate, mid Heavenly Gare, Red Temple until the Daimiao Temple. After Lunch, take bus to Taishan Railway Station. Furthermore, because Taishan has D train to Qingdao, maybe you can tour Qingdao later.

4. Mountain Tai Attractions

 Taishan Mountain has 72 majestic peaks, magnificent waterfalls, centuries-old pines and cypresses and fascinating rocks. There are five tourist zones and two routes up the mountain-one in the east and one in the west. They meet at Zhongtian Gate and there are 6,293 steps in the nine kilometers leading to the top. Scenic spots include Longtan Reservoir, Zhongtian Gate, Five-Doctor Pine, Duansong Hill, 18 Turns, South Gate to Heaven, Bixia Temple, Zhanglu Terrace, Sun-Watching Peak, Moon-Watching Peak. The four wonders of the mountain are Sun Rises from the East, Golden Belt along the Yellow River, Beautiful Sunset and the Sea of Clouds etc.

5.Taishan Food Specialities(1) Tai’an Millet Pancake
A pancake, which is made from millet, is known for thin, crisp and fragrant
(2) Fried Chilin Fish
Chilin Fish, a kind of wild carp lives in the streams of Mount Tai, is known for the tender meat, few small bones and high nutrition value and loved by the locals.
